vegas baby 7.7.7

i missed out on my sister's 21'st birthday last year, so this year, i had promised her a trip to vegas for her birthday... which was 7-7-7! happy birthday stine! we also celebrated our 4th year wedding anniversary on the 4th of july!

good times, good times...

it was super hot in vegas when we were there... the thermostat hit 115 degrees! yikes! it was very dry but surprisingly tolerable because there was no humidity... but we still stayed indoors as much as we can...

one of the many 7-7-7 brides walking around in vegas... had to get this shot! there were 777 couples that got married at venetian alone!

chocolate heaven! this chocolate fountain was shot at the bellagio... yummy!

doesn't it just make your mouth water? :)

poker craze! while we were there, the World Series of Poker was going on at the Rio... they had a celebrity poker tournament and was lucky enough to capture Ben Affleck, Shannon Elizabeth, and other poker gurus... other celebs that i saw but not lucky enough to shoot were Charles Barkley, Adam Sandler, and Jason Alexander...

if you're ever in vegas, i highly recommend visiting the Red Rock Canyon which is approximately 15 miles away from the strip... unfortunately a fire just broke out several days before we visited and i was able to capture these images... it affected about 400 acres of the beautiful Red Rock Canyon...

high on life... literally...
it's so funny how we both jumped the exact same way...
not planned at all...

now back to work... i'll be posting on the 'business' side of our trip soon... :)

she got her first ears! oOo

ok so i haven't blogged for awhile and this is why... we just got back from a business/family vacation in california... these photos were shot w/ my handy dandy point and shoot :) just wanted to share...

oOo disney fan in the making oOo

it's the year of a million dreams and we were randomly chosen by a disney cast member to be 'honorary citizens of disneyland'... shortly thereafter, he made a phone call and mickey came out to meet little misha mouse :)

gotta meet the mouse!

it's so different going on vacation with a little one! it was still so much fun and i'm glad that we had a little break for the summer :)

something different, unique, and one-of-a-kind...

I'd like to feature Ela Kaya, a local artist who specializes in wedding painting! Ela creates original, one-of-a-kind paintings and drawings of your wedding day! Due to the great response that I've had during my meetings, I've decided to blog and let you know about Ela's fine art paintings... as an artist of photography, I appreciate the work that Ela does and her contribution to making your wedding special and unique! This is definitely something to consider as this is not only a painting, but an art work of you on one of the most special days of your lives!

Ela can create the artwork at your wedding (as an added 'entertainment' aspect to your wedding), or even create a painting of your favorite wedding photo if your wedding has past already... Why not surprise your husband/wife with an exclusive wedding anniversary present?

Ela creates both abstract and realistic paintings with many different styles... she can also imitate your favorite artist styles as well (ie. Van Gogh). Ela uses the following mediums to paint or draw your artwork - oil, acrylic, charcoal, colored pencil, and watercolor.

Pricing starts at $295. If you are currently a Misha Media client, she's offering a special discount on her artwork :)

Ela does great work... here are a few of her sample artwork... how I wish I had something like this for my wedding!

please emailme@mishamedia.com
for more information on Ela Kaya's artwork!

'forever' stamps

just a thought... there's going to be a postage increase (again!) on may 14th and the rate will increase from 39 cents to 41 cents!

the USPS have what they call 'forever' stamps... this will sell for 41 cents and will remain valid for first-class postage regardless of future rate increases. who knows when the next postage increase will be... it just seems like it's always going up nowadays... :(

so with that in mind, this might be a good investment for brides and grooms... possibly for save-the-date's, wedding invites, shower thank you cards, and wedding thank you cards... or if you're really into snail mailing greeting cards, this will definitely be an advantage for you!

although they are selling for 41 cents currently, at least you'll be guaranteed this rate for your future mailers!

just my 2 cents... no pun intended

engagement party - neelu & rama

we had the honor of being part of neelu & rama's engagement party... it was held at the beautiful ashyana banquets in downer's grove. after hanging out with these two at their engagement session last month, i knew for sure that their families would be really nice and welcoming.

the night celebrated their love for each other and their friends and families.

loved the intricate details on neelu's hand!

rama's niece got tired of me taking pictures of her all night that she decided to return the favor!

how did it turn out?

thank you once again for letting us be part of your wedding celebration(s). how i wish i can photograph your wedding as well! best wishes to both of you!
