congratulations to kat & tj! we had the honor of being part of kat & tj's thai wedding ceremony held at the Chapel of Wat Buddhadhamma Thai Temple in Willowbrook... this was the first day of a two day wedding celebration and what a fun-filled day it was! the thai tradition was so amazing to capture! the first part of the day was the monk blessing...

9 Buddhist Monks said special prayers for the bridal couple and in return, the couple offered food and other domestic necessities to the monks...

during the ceremony

everything was so colorful and vibrant!

after the Monks Blessing in the morning, the bridal party prepared for the Water Blessing Ceremony which is to be held later in the evening...
the groomsmen played the drums...

... after the rehearsal for the evening's ceremony, there was some time to 'relax'...
tj and the guys decided to go bowling...

Water Blessing Ceremony

each guest soaked the couple's hands in water and wished them good luck

6 degrees of separation...
so there was this huge (about 10x20 feet) beautiful mural painted on the back of the temple's reception hall... i find out later that my uncle, who was a guest at the wedding, was the one that painted the mural! we were both so surprised to see each other at this wedding! he knew kat's parents! what a small world!
